Online travel agency Supersavertravel has relaunched its rewards programme so that customers now receive rewards for their airline ticket reservations. A major customer satisfaction survey revealed that many customers are looking for an attractive rewards programme. The change has been made to increase awareness of the travel agency's hotel search tool and to reward its loyal customers.

Today, online travel agency Supersavertravel will unveil a new model of its rewards programme. As one of only a handful of online travel agencies in the Nordic countries, Supersavertravel now offers its customers the opportunity to earn rewards on their travel.

"We have made the change in order to reward our most loyal customers and to increase awareness of our other products. We offer so much more than just plane tickets. We also offer a hotel search tool with over 80,000 hotels in the system," says Marléne Wallberg, Marketing Director at Supersavertravel.

In June, Supersavertravel conducted a major customer survey in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. More than 15,000 customers were surveyed. The results showed that there is a demand for an attractive rewards programme. A number of customers suggested that flight reservations should be included in the programme.

"A large part of our sales consists of air travel, so it's natural for us to include flights in our rewards programme. If customers collect frequent flyer points with an airline and also book their trips with us, then they will get double the reward. Simply put, it means bigger rewards and bigger benefits for our customers," adds Wallberg.

Customers who sign up through their personal Supersavertravel page will receive rewards worth 2.5 per cent of the purchase value every time they buy airline tickets. If they book hotels, car rental, or flights and hotel reservations together, they will get a 5-per cent reward. Customers can then use their rewards for their next hotel, flight together with hotel, or rental car booking.
